I'm a sucker for all things 1930s and 1940s, so this piece really charmed me when I saw it. Not only do I love the piece itself (the composition, the colors), but also that Otis refrained from using the Big Three, focusing on Aquaman, The Atom, Hawkman, etc. As we see every Adventure Sunday, Aquaman really enjoyed kicking Nazi butt so I think he would be at the front lines of any world war, ready to serve.

I found it a bit odd that Frampton did a WW2 period propaganda piece, and chose not to use the Golden Age Flash, Green Lantern or, for that matter, Aquaman (the shade of grey on the gloves matches the shade on the leggings, implying green gloves, not the Golden Age yellow).
I have to agree with Wood...disappointing he didn't choose the Golden age looks for the hero's. A good mashup, but could have been stellar! Oh well.
I like it. He chose the versions of the characters he liked, or was familiar with. Very cool. :)
I agree with Joe. And I, for one, like this piece a lot. Aquaman, Hawkman and Atom are 3 of my all-time favorite JLA'ers, so I totally dig this piece.
It's a great piece - but I'd agree that Silver Age heroes in a Golden Age setting jars just like the reverse would...
