Someone at DC felt like they just had to stick Sienkiewicz with Aparo at the time. Every time Jim came out of semi-retirement, they paired these two up. It's like mixing sardines and peanut butter. It didn't really work.
I actually liked Aparo/Sienkiewicz paired. By that point Aparo was past his prime and all of his stuff had a very flat, lifelessness to it. I felt Sienkiewicz gave it a bit of life again. And I love early Aparo but his stuff on Batman just before and during Knightfall I believe was fairly terrible. Unless it was the inker at that point too.
I think it was the inking. Mike DeCarlo wasn't a good match with Aparo either. Aparo did a few solo art jobs at the time (the first LOTDK Annual comes to mine) and he still had the chops then. Even at his lowest ebb, Aparo was better than about anyone working at DC today. There, I said it!!!

Boy those are some awful looking lips. Aquaman and Aqualad via Clutch Cargo?
Is that Aparo art? Janson maybe? What comic is this from?
Its the odd team of Aparo/Sienkiewicz, from Aquaman #52:

The art is not great but the image makes me smile. I miss my Aqua-team.
