Super Heroes Coloring Cloth

sg
I saw this unusual item for sale on eBay a few weeks ago, and while I wasn't interested enough to bid on it, it certainly deserves a mention here on the Shrine.

I never had one of these a kid, so I guess from the description its pretty much just a big sheet of plastic that you color, and then wipe off. Kids love cleaning up after themselves, so I can only imagine that added to the fun.

What's intriguing about this piece (to me, at least) are the headshots you see on the label: Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (yay!), Batgirl, and...Wonder Girl?? There's a character you never saw on merchandise, especially in the 70s!

I've never seen this thing unfolded, so I'm just guessing here, but I think we can assume there was, at the very least, the Aquaman logo and the Classic Aquaman stock art pose for kids to color. But if they bothered to include Wonder Girl, who knows what else could be on there?

I have a vague memory of something like this. Not sure if it was this one or a different character/set. Good find tho!

I've got this one all the names are in the middle and the art on the pepsi glass is the only Aquaman on it in a corner

I had a Marvel sheet like this. I didn't know who half the characters were! First time I ever saw the X-Men.

Wonder Girl sure wasn't in much back then. The only two things that pop out to me are the Mego figure and the Wonder Woman sleeping bag, with her, Catwoman, Batgirl and Supergirl.

Nobody has realized.....

Wonder Girl was probably credited on it because of Debra Winger's kinda/sorta portrayal of her on the Wonder Woman TV show. She played Diana's sister Drusilla who was based on Wonder Girl.

Kind of clever marketing, I think.

Wonder Girl was also on a Wonder Woman sleeping bag around this same time period.
