Well by now we've all seen Ivan Reis' dark and gritty Sea King on the cover of Aquaman #1 out on September 28th (see the digital countdown to your right!) and today we have the pleasure of bringing you the preview for October's #2!
What say you Aqua-fans? Has Mr. Reis' art got you hooked for the new series yet, or are you >ahem< still floundering on it?

I like it! And I like that it is like the opposite viewpoint of issue #1's cover! Whoever this villain is, it is damn scary looking!
Yes, yes, effectively spooky. But tell me, honestly, how does something like that close its mouth without slicing up its gums/lips?
Eh. I don't really like it. I want more Aquaman.
The art is amazing from a horror standoint, but I'm with Tegan, lets see some more Aquaman & family on the cover not some underwater Sleestaks :D
Grisly, gruesome, squeamish... all in one solicitation. Maybe that's what Aquaman needs to convince the ignorant he's cool, but I wish it weren't the case. Not my favorite cover image of all time (and I'm assuming the reflections in the eys will be replaced with new illustrations eventually? maybe not) but I still have very high hopes for this!
I'm with Tegan. Blech. :-(
"Not for the squeamish..."? Sounds like they're making Aquaman into another Dark and Dirty hero. Great. (sarcasm)
Some deep sea fish with teeth like that, such as the anglerfish, DON'T close their mouths; and some can distend their jaws to swallow prey twice as large as themselves. I wonder if that's their secret, gruesome, squeamy, don't-look-in-the-basement!! power.
Works for me. Guys, the days of Aquababy, Storm, Imp, and Topo are now 30 years in the past. We can't go back to them. Remember, Arthur's longest (and best IMO) run was when PAD radically revamped the character. Johns is probably doing something similar. Cheer up. He's in his classic costume and he has both his hands. Let him (and Mera) kick ass and take names. I'm ready.
If there's one thing I've learned is definitely not to judge a book by its cover. Geoff Johns and Aquaman together have me psyched for what I hope will be the best Aquaman yet. And they'll be together in the new JLA too.
Those two books are really the only ones I'm looking forward to with the New 52. I'm dropping a lot of stuff come September.
