Lois Lane and the Resistance #1 - Aug. 2011

sg
Comics Weekend "Part One" by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Eddie Nunez, and Don Ho.

It seems as though even though I was determined not to get sucked in by DC into buying all the Flashpoint books, how could I have guessed Aquaman would make appearances in almost all of them?

Luckily(?), the Sea King only makes a tiny appearance in this issue, during its flashback (flashforward? flashsideways?) to when Aquaman sank a large chunk of France:

Do. not. mess. with. Aquaman.

Duly noted. Emperor Aquaman is not to be trifled with.

See, this is where I break with Rob on supporting a routinely undermined and generally marginalized character. I'm perfectly happy to see J'Onn J'Onzz beat the crud out of fellow super-heroes, especially in alternate reality scenarios, because he's so routinely jobbed for their benefit. When it comes to killing a nation of innocent civilians, I actually get more ticked off. Not that the Martian Manhunter ever gets to kill millions, but he's been the bad guy in a few Elseworlds, and it makes me really mad when he screws with anyone's mind in an unethical way (a common occurance in his solo series.) Of course, all would be forgiven with the inclusion of a pointy goatee...
