Deathstroke and The Curse of the Ravager #1 - Aug. 2011

sg
Comics Weekend "Separation Anxiety" by Jimmy Palmiotti, Joe Bennett, and John Dell.

Aquaman is all over the place in Flashpoint, even making an appearance in this three-issue Deathstroke mini-series.

The plot of the issue gives us the back story (pretty much like all the Flashpoint spin-off titles do) of how Deathstroke has been sailing the high-seas, killing and pillaging...but not for the reasons you'd necessarily think.

At the end of the book, his ship (which includes long-time Aquaman foe The Fisherman on its crew) is spotted by Aquaman and his brother Orm, and they show the same mercy to Deathstroke as they do to everyone. Meaning, very little:

I don't know if Aquaman will appear in the remaining two issues of Deathstroke, but I do like how he's drawn here by Bennett and Dell, and would be interested in seeing more of the Sea King rendered by them. Though the amount of gory violence in this book was, to me, more than a little off-putting.

Healing factor. By the end of his solo series, he was more physically immortal than Vandal Savage. He died a couple or three times in the last year and a half. His wife apparently caught the same bug, because she survived a gunshot wound to the head, and it explains Jericho if you let it.
