The Staffords, aka Aquaman and Wonder Woman!

sg
No, this is not a costume test for an upcoming live-action Wonder Woman/Aquaman movie...its our newest set of F.O.A.M. members, Lisa and Rick Stafford!

Lisa sent me an email a few months ago, and then Rick followed by sending me some more pics of him in his Aqua-glory. Like here's one of Rick rocking his Aqua-Hoodie while on his honeymoon in Cozumel, followed by his and Lisa's wedding cake, and then an amazing wedding gift by and from George Perez:

...and here's Rick in his Aquaman costume, photographed and Photoshopped by a professional photog:

...as if all this wasn't F.O.A.M. material enough, Rick and Lisa tell me that, in their cosplay identities, they "[A]re both part of a costuming group here in Central Florida that visits the local Children's Hospitals, does Charity Events to raise money for groups like The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

During the holidays we combine with a local TV station and do a Huge Toys For Tots event where we in costumes collect toys from cars as they come to the station parking lot. During Free Comic Book Day we help out local comic book stores and later in the day when the event at the store is over we collect up all the extra comics and go straight over the the hospitals and while in costume hand out the comics to all the children that are not healthy enough to attend the events at the stores."

Great Neptune, what a swell couple of folks! The Shrine is honored to have you aboard, Rick and Lisa. Thanks for all you do, and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

That shirt is AWESOME! Love the scale effect!

I prefer the black underoos to the all green pants--breaks up the form.

Thank you all. It is such an Honor for us to be profiled here. We are truly humbled and love these characters to no end. We hope to continue to do them justice as we continue to put smiles on the faces of kids and adult fans alike. Rick & Lisa Staffors

I think part of why Aquaman was always my favorite character was that he always got paired with Wonder Woman on the Super Friends. Glad to see they ended up together. :)

Quick question for the Staffords: what's the Iron Man significance on the cake? And is that braided rope part of Captain Marvel's cape?

The braided rope is from Wonder Woman's Lasso and the Ironman is another costume I wear for events. I am a 2X Ironman Triathlon Finisher and so I thought it only fitting that I got myself an Ironman Costume. When Wonder Woman is with me, I do Aquaman and when she cannot be at events I try to do Ironman. The Ironman has been a big hit lately with the movies and the cartoons that are currently out so I get asked a lot to wear it for movie openings and very special charity events. It weights 85 lbs so I have to pick and choose which events it gets worn too. But Aquaman is by far a favorite of mine to wear as I can be much more personable with the kids and not have to worry about knocking them over if they happen to be out of line of site when I turn in the armor.

I just found your shrine and I think is cool. Congratulations! Since I was a kid I never missed the Superfriends tv show, and through the years every incarnation of dc characters caught my attention. Now whenever I can follow Batman The Brave and the Bold and it's great fun. Especially the depiction of Aquaman.
by the way guys you both look great in those outfits. No wonder Aquaman always says "Outrageous!"
Greetings from Costa Rica! Be well!
