Sounds very promising and reassuring reading what Geoff thinks and has in mind for the series. Glad for the confirmation of it being an ongoing as well! Now if only he'd confirm the artist. Still this is a great time for us Aqua-fans!

So happy it doesn't sound like Johns is super keen on the environmentalism angle. I'm pro-environment (obviously) but there are no easy fixes, sometimes no clear solution at all, and escapist fiction is a difficult place for ambiguity. Adventure, family, exploration, world-building: woo!

I keep thinking if this does well, for the first time in my life when I tell people Aquaman's my favorite superhero, they won't assume I'm kidding.

David J. Cutler: Agree with the environmentalism in fiction thoughts, escapist fiction should never get preachy and I'm glad Geoff Johns seems to agree on that too.

Sorry you live in an anti-Aquaman area, where I live like 75% of the comic readers are Aqua-fans and I've never been looked at strangely for professing my love of his character.

Haha wow, you must live among the highest concentration of Aquaman fans in the world. Here in Toronto (and everywhere else in Canada I've ever lived) I've always been the Aquaman guy. I've never met another person face to face who's as big a fan, and only a handful of people who were fans at all before my extensive lectures on the matter.

This is great news! I missed the announcement at MegaCon on Sunday. That'll teach me to leave a day early. (But I had a good excuse -- I was at SeaWorld playing with the dolphins!)

Yeah, David, I guess I just lucked out! LOL! Not that the 75% I mentioned are fans of ALL Aquaman series published over the years, but they really like and see the potential of him and usually like 2 or more of his incarnations. Honestly one has ever thought me silly for being an Aqua-fan in person, although I don't attend conventions. Only online have I encountered haters.

Oops! Meant to type "no one" has ever thought me silly in person for liking Aquaman.

wow, JD you really MUST live in Aquaman Heaven because I get razzed about him ALL THE TIME. Every time he's mentioned on The Family Guy 3 or 4 of my friends all feel obliged to inform me. :-(
