Attached are pictures of me in the famous "Aqua-Hoodie" by my overhead projector before one of my class's writing lessons-along with a few Aquaman figures. My second graders always "made" me put on my "uniform" during this latest writing unit. As I wrote my "All About Aquaman" book, they would write their own All About books on the topic of their choice. Also attached are a few pages from my "published" All About the Amazing Aquaman book which my students modeled their own pieces after.
In my classroom, we have enjoyed numerous animated adventures of Aquaman from his own 1960's series, Superman TAS, and they all really enjoyed the Batman: Brave and the Bold episode "Aquaman's Outrageous Adventure".
I told my students I would try to get the picture of me in the Aqua-Hoodie on the site as a "celebration" for all of their hard work.
Great Neptune, is this great! Not only does Rick sound like an *awesome* teacher, but he's introducing a whole new generation of kids to Aquaman! If that doesn't make him a Friend Of AquaMan, I don't know what does!
Thanks Rick for the pics, the story, and your work with the kids--and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

Wow! This sure made me smile! As a teacher AND an Aquaman fan I'm very impressed! It's good to get to potential fans early! ;)
Love the classroom too!
Wow, indeed! How cool is this dude??? Pretty freakin' cool! Aquaman is assured a long-lived fan base with people like this promoting how cool he really is. Awesome!
Dude...that just rocks... Well done Rick!
Oh wow that is just awesome on so many levels! I was drawing Aquaman in the back of my excercise books, if I had a teacher that let me draw him at the front as part of any assignment they would've had a friend for life!
Love the drawing of Black Manta too - nice job!
I echo all the praise and delight how awesome it is, Rick, both that you are a teacher and an Aquaman fan, and are sharing that love with your young charges so early. By the way, if and when you do publish your book, I'll gladly buy it. :)
Cheers, Michael
