Aquaman: Deepwater Disaster

sg
Exciting news!

I just got an email from Capstone Publishing, who is behind the upcoming DC Super Pets series of books by Art Baltazar. But this is a totally different kettle of fish--a standalone Aquaman Chapter Book called "Deepwater Disaster"!

Here's the description, direct from Capstone: "A violent storm strikes the Gulf of Mexico, damaging a drilling rig off the Louisiana coast. Only one man can stop millions of barrels of oil from spilling into the ocean . . . AQUAMAN, the KING OF THE SEA! Without delay, the super hero and his underwater friends surge toward the disaster. Suddenly, out of a black plume of oil, an even greater darkness emerges. The evil BLACK MANTA is siphoning oil into his submarine. The SEA KING can’t believe the villain could sink to such terrible depths! Before the gulf is destroyed, AQUAMAN must convince his enemy that a threat to the sea is a threat to them both."

If you click this link, you can see that this book is part of a larger series of DC Super Heroes titles starring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern. It looks as though Aquaman is the only character not getting multiple books in this series, which is too bad.

But hey, I think its great he's getting represented at all--Aquaman usually misses out on this kid-friendly, mass-market stuff as a solo star, so I am eagerly awaiting this book and will consume multiple quantities.

Thanks to the fine folks at Capstone for the sneak peek!

Ferget the kids! I want this for myself! Cool news. And I agree with you Rob!, its too bad that they're not giving Aquaman more issues, but the fact that he's even getting one is shocking enough, given the public opinion on the Sea king!

Cant wait!

I've written five DC Super Heroes books for Capstone and am lobbying hard to write an Aquaman book! The editor of the line is an aqua-fan, too, so there's hope.

Check out my Capstone books:
Wonder Woman: Sword of the Dragon (Fall 2010) https://www.capstonepub.com/product/9781434226105

Green Lantern: The Light King Strikes (Spring 2011) http://www.capstonepub.com/product/9781434219794

The Flash: Gorilla Warfare (Spring 2011) http://www.capstonepub.com/product/9781434226181

I have another Green Lantern and a second Flash book due out in the Fall of 2011.

I'm impressed with the topical nature of the plot. I'm sure Aquaman will handle the situation more efficiently and effectively than BP
