DC Postcards - 2010

sg
These four postcards are selections from the Art of Vintage DC Comics: 100 Postcards book published by Chronicle earlier this year.

I haven't as yet had a chance to take a look inside the book, but F.O.A.M.er John Tripp was kind enough to pick these up when they were being given away at his LCS and send them to Shrine Central. Since Aquaman's presence in a lot of these DC 75-themed projects has been so light, I didn't really make it a point to search this book out, assuming this would be no different.

But these are a pleasant surprise--not only is Aquaman represented as a member of both the JLA and the Super Friends, but he gets a postcard all of his own, commemorating the first issue of his solo book. Sweet, thanks John!

Oh, and just in case any of you are interested in picking up the Art of Vintage DC Comics book, here you go:

I love postcards that are comic covers, so good for decorating the comic room.

I have to say, much as I'm not really into Family Guy, I do support that the constant references to Super Friends seems to have brought it back into the limelight.

I think it's awesome that the Human Flying Fish has now achieved a sort of immortality, being represented on the Super Friends card as he is. I raise a glass (of Diet Pepsi) to the 1960s and 1970s.
