If my admittedly damaged memory serves, wasn't this the moment that kind of began the idea of Aquaman (and Atlanteans in general) having super-strength? I don't remember it being expressed before this, even though it was kind of hinted at in that Aqualad/Tula Teen Titans back-up story from which you ran a random panel some time ago.
I can't be sure, but you may be right. Aquaman didn't have great strength in his own book from the late 60s, but he started being written differently in the JLA, like you see here.
