Hmmm...wonder how his "best partner in the world" would feel about that line, since Garth stuck by him when Mera wanted nothing to do with him...and Arthur didn't try to kill Mera, after all. Sometimes dialog just doesn't seem to echo continuity "reality"...
It seems if I remember correctly, the issue where Brainiac had Aquaman strapped to a table came out right around the time the episode of Smallville had him tied to a table by Luthor. Rough month for Arthur! (If I'm not remembering wrong)
