Jose Luis Garcia Lopez @ The Baltimore Comic Con - 2010

sg
This photo of The Master, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, was taken over the weekend at the Baltimore Comic Con by F.O.A.M.er Doug Zawisza.

As you can see, JLGL is rocking an Aquaman t-shirt that features his own artwork. Normally I'd say that's kinda uncool--wearing your own artwork on your chest--but when you're an artistic genius like Jose Luis Garcia Lopez you can do what the hell you want.

I see Mr. Garcia-Lopez at cons all the time, and of course I would kill to get an Aquaman sketch from him. But he's always mobbed, and the couple of times I've noticed he was free, I would head over to approach him, only to be shoved (literally) shoved out of the way by some real-life simulacrum of The Comic Book Guy ready to shove fifty copies of the same book in front of him to sign (true story).

Thanks Doug!

Jose is the man. I will not die a happy man until I have some original art of his.

Cool! Much cooler seeing him in an Aquaman shirt than any one like Jim Carrey!

I'm gonna bid like hell to own my first JLGL original in a few days. He's not taking commissions at this time, so my original Super Powers Brainiac dream will go unfulfilled for now...
