A couple of F.O.A.M.ers all sent me this Amazon link at nearly the exact same moment: some sort of Aquaman trade or hardcover collection called Death of the Prince.
The artist listed is Jim Aparo--could this mean the classic Steve Skeates/Aparo Aquaman run (presumably culminating with Adventure Comics #452, which featured the death of a prince) will finally be collected under one cover?!? Stay tuned!

WOW!!! Its about time!!!
336 Pages!!!
What do you make of that rob? That's got to include Aquaman's entire Adventure Comics/Aquaman run and more doesn't it?
Oh and I forgot to mention that DC often times will do a reprint trade at a targeted time, like when a character is starting a new series and they want to cash in on the renewed interest in past history...
This might be a great time for everyone to send Dan DiDio and Jim Lee postcards that say:
"Aquaman back in Adventure Comics 2011!
Based on the (very) little info available, it seems like a a Showcase book, with the huge page count.
But the Showcase books aren't $30. And if this book is in color, then it'd be way more than $30 for 336(!) pages. So its kinda confusing.
I really hope its the Skeates/Aparo stuff. That SO needs collecting!!!
Dunno Rob???
The upcoming reprint of the Great Darkness Saga is in color and lists at 39.99 for 416 pages.
Really? Wow, I didn't think they could do that many color pages for that cheap, cool!
YES! Now that's news I wanna read about! But I agree, the page count and the price makes it confusing as to what the content of this HC will be.
We'll have to wait! Awesome!
hmmm... I just realized that the May 2011 release date for this book conicides with that of the last Brightest Day issue.
Oh! I hope to God Aquaman jumps from BD to Adventure (or, fingers crossed, his own title) in June 2011!!!
this is awesome!!! and... it sucks for me cause i just worked my ass off piecing together the Adventure Comics and later Aquaman v1 stuff at a reasonable price for the past five months! and now they've got a very reasonable $30 for 336 pages. kinda of maddening. but also great. but then again it might not be what it seems...
Nick--I think they're better in the original comics, so don't be sorry you got them. :) Some comics are just as good reprinted in a trade, but those Aquamans I think are fun to read in their original context.
I talked to Steve Skeates, and he has not heard anything from DC about reprinting his stuff, but since May 2011 is still a ways off that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
I'm happy to report that if the book is reprinting his work, he will get a royalty payment. So we can all rest easy buying the collected edition knowing the original author isn't getting shanked by DC.
Zoner--BD is running all the way until May 2011? Wow, I didn't think I knew that...
Oh man, about time! Cannot wait.
