Sugarloaf Aquaman

sg
sg
No, not a delicious cake shaped like the Sea King, a Sugarloaf Aquaman is this plush doll that was won by F.O.A.M.er Rian Fike in one of those crane machines found at a local supermarket! Score!

This plush doll is reminiscent of this Aquaman made by The Toy Factory, but with some definite differences--the drawing on the face, the colors, and this unusual detail, spelled out on the tag:

"The Superfriends Go Green! This toy is filled with polyester that is made from recycled plastic bottles."

Wow, how cool! I'm sure Aquaman himself would approve. Here's one final pic, of Rian himself, proudly showing off his prize:

Great catch (grab?) Rian, and thanks!

Update: Around the same time as Rian's email, I got another photo (sent by another F.O.A.M.er named Buck) of this Sugarloaf Aquaman plush doll--this time as it sat inside the vending machine:

I find interesting that it seems this Aquaman doll is all of a sudden appearing in vending machines across the land, all at once. Who would've guessed there's an army of claw vending machine fillers, dispatched all over the country simultaneously like some sort of crack fighting unit?

Thanks Buck!

Nice find, I'm kinda digging the black scales.

Is it just me, or does this figure's face remind you of the inflatable autopilot from "Airplane!"?

Kind of cool, kind of weird. :)

Hey...Sugarloaf! They are here in Colorado and I used to do a lot of work for them back in the day when I was selling myself on the mean streets of Boulder.

I used to always try and get them to do some sort of superheroes.

Glad to see someone finally wised up!

Awesome Aquaman Toy!

By the way, the black scale lines are stitched so you can feel the texture.

Good times.
