Aquaman on the Web: Aquaman Movie R.I.P.?

sg
Gossip maven Perez Hilton reports on his blog today that the Aquaman solo movie has been dropped--you can read it here.

I can't speak to Mr. Hilton's general level of accuracy, but I have to say the "source" he quotes reads like something you'd find on a chat board, so take it with several grains of salt.

I've seen this on a number of different boards from supposedly different sources. As the odds against any movie being made are high anyway, I'd probably say that holding your breath for an Aquaman movie would be a bad idea.

Warner Brothers usually just likes to bank their money on Superman and Batman. WIth the failure of Jonah Hex any new movies based on other characters will depend on how well the Green Lantern movie does.

I'll continue to get my movie news from the people do movie news reporting, not gossip blogs.

Unless it comes from WB and Geoff Johns, I would dismiss any rumors of an Aquaman movie, or lack therof.

Yeah, and don't read the comments. Depressing amounts of ignorance...

Brent-I find that true in many, many cases...

Except of course for the Shrine's commenters, they're FOAMerific!

Michael-

Yes, they are. One of the things I'm most proud of is that the Shrine's comments section is almost entirely a polite, cheerful place. I like to think I set the tone and then everyone else who visits has done their best to keep that tone.

Over the almost four years, I've only had to delete about half a dozen comments or so, a damn good ratio I think.
