@Rock in the Aquaman context, that got a laugh out of me.

While i'd love to see a live action Aquaman movie one day (with life imitating Entourage art in terms of popularity), i think i'd be even more over the moon if he got the DCU Animated treatment.

That would be cool.

I agree Louie, I would love to see an animated Aquaman movie--but look at it this way:

If a live action Aquaman movie does get produced (miracle of miracles), as long as its not a complete utter bomb (ala Jonah Hex), the chances of their being an animated movie after would be MUCH greater!

I think your mention of Jonah Hex is key, Rob. Despite the good comic to movie adaptations we've had, there's an equal number that have been truly bad, including some of big-name, beloved properties. While I enjoy the good live-action movies, I have to admit that I keep thinking of every new one that comes along as a giant gamble. You *want* it to be an Iron Man... but what Aquaman of all heroes doesn't need is a Jonah Hex-like movie attached to him.

I know that an animated movie, likely direct to DVD (like the recent Batman: Under the Red Hood), wouldn't increase Aquaman's profile as much as a theatrical release would. But given the quality work going on in the DCAU, it seems like it would stand a better chance of being really good. And... I don't know. Big success for an Aquaman-centric DCAU movie might work the other way around, convincing TPTB that he *could* headline his own live-action film.
