Entertainment Weekly #1114 - 8/6/10

sg
This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly (#1114, Julia Roberts on the cover) features the above poll, where Aquaman surprisingly (to me, at least) came in second with a whopping 30%!

Of course, I wouldn't want to see Reynolds play Aquaman or The Flash, because then any Justice League movie would resemble the Nutty Professor movies, I think we can all agree we don't want that.

Another tidbit of Aquaman/EW news comes from F.O.A.M.er Brent Almond, who points us to the magazine's website, which says this: "
With Smallville entering its final season, Ostroff said The CW is talking about adapting another DC Comics property for the small screen. That noise you hear is Wonder Woman firing up her invisible jet." Ooh, I hope its Aquaman, that way the CW can screw up all over again!

Thanks Brent!

Ha - 'The League of Nutty Professors' does have a bit of a ring to it.

Hopefully they let him lie with just Hal Jordan, Deadpool, and Hannibal King.

Chris Evans has him just about beat, doesn't he? He was in the Losers, Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim, The Human Torch in two Fantastic Fours, and next summer, Captain America.

My ideal casting would have been Ryan Reynolds as Wally West and Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, but we can't have it all I guess. I'm not aware of a name actor I could see as Arthur (or Superman or Wonder Woman for that matter).

And of course it goes without saying I hope the CW revisits Aquaman instead of the Greysons.

I think there are many fine potential Aquamans here.

You're right--Chris Evans is current the "It" comic book movie guy.

the mental image of a Nutty Professor-esque JLA movie just made me laugh

I think Daniel Craig would ROCK as Aquaman!

I'd want Aquaman (in the first film at least) to skew quite a bit younger. Bale was 31 or so in Batman Begins--I'd want Aquaman to be about the same.

I think Aquaman is one of those character's who would work better in a film than a weekly television series. Even if that series was on HBO instead of CW. And I definitely co-sign Daniel Craig as Aquaman.
