The Music of DC Comics Preorder

sg
F.O.A.M.er Ilke Hincer sent me a link to Previews, which is featuring this surprising item: The Music of DC Comics!

The CD is described thusly: "
The Music of DC Comics: 75th Anniversary Collection celebrates highlights of DC Comics' rich musical history, including many rare theme songs that have never before been released. The compliation begins in 1941 with the theme from Max Fleischer's Academy Award-nominated Superman cartoons, then moves through the decades. Theme songs include the Filmation cartoons of the 1960s, including Justice League and Green Lantern, plus the most recent Justice League themes from the 2000s. The 1970s are represented by Super Friends as well as the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman. Other highlights include musice from John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, and, of course, Neil Hefti's unforgettable theme to the 1966 Batman television series!"

I
can't say whether I'll order this or not (most likely just pick my favorites off of iTunes), but it sounds like a fun mix, and of course it's great to have Aquaman on the cover!

Thanks Ilke!

Cool! They are definitely using Aquaman consistently with regards to promotional material which is nice because he's usually conspicuously absent.

Updated look on this piece for Green Arrow but the artist did the scoop with Aquaman's shirt.

Looks like Dan Jurgens to me...and I'll definitely get this!!! :-) I already have the Filmation Aquaman song in my head....!!!!!!!!!

The faces on Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman look like Garcia Lopez. But Jurgens is a good guess on some of the others.

I am so getting this. I made my own mix from various sources (including Comic Book Resources) but an official release is too cool to pass up.

This is an absolute must buy! And I'll be getting the physical CD because qwith the download you don't get that cool cover.

I hope they leave in the narration. I have some theme songs where they cut it out, or cut out any dialogue that was part of the credit sequence, which is always disappointing when that was the way I remembered them.
