JLI Pins - 1992

sg
F.O.A.M.er Ilke Hincer sent me a link to this set of Justice League International pins commemorating the then-new line-ups of the two teams, which at this point included Aquaman (seen fuzzily on the right). The price was a little too steep for my tastes, so I (ahem) borrowed the image the seller was using to post here.

It occurs to me I've never actually read those issues of Justice League Europe that featured Aquaman--I should probably dig those up at the next con I attend and check 'em out.

Thanks Ilke!

I think I have/had those. Not sure where the heck they are but they look really familiar.
I've read all the JLEurope stuff from back then. Aquaman wasn't there for very long but I do recall Power Girl having a crush on him if memory serves. The art was pretty ugly, that much I remember. Now the JLA stuff from that relaunch was actually quite good whiel Jurgens was around.

I really didn't care for that series, either. Power Girl had some stupid crush on Aquaman, and he had this curly-type hair that made him look like Element Lad from the Legion. It just wasn't very good.

Those relaunches were doomed from conception. They put Superman in charge of the JLA, and Green Lantern in charge of the JLE. Then a few months later they killed Superman and drove GL crazy. So here you had two big superhero teams with no leaders. Ugh.

Agreed about the art on JLE. It really didn't suit that kind of superhero book.

Rob - I've got both of these pins. You can have them for free if you want them. Just let me know.
