"Batman XXX"

sg
Apparently there's a new porn film titled Batman XXX (clever!) that has managed to garner some attention in the greater, non-porn culture (as well as from Warner Bros. Legal Department, I'm sure), so The Village Voice did a whole feature on it, consisting of a series of custom-made graphics, like the one you see above.

F.O.A.M.er Frank Lee Delano caught the Aquaman reference, also above: "
I thought this was just off-beat (*ahem*) enough to rate a mention. The Village Voice ran a slideshow commentary/parody of Vivid Entertainment's 'Batman XXX' porn flick, and they namecheck Aquaman on the last page cliffhanger. It's disrespectful and ignorant of continuity, but what else is new?"

Indeed. Of all the superheroes out there, Aquaman is one of the few that we can guarantee sees a lot of action--and I'm not talking about the series (I'd say Arthur is second only to Green Arrow and Iron Man in that regard, but that's probably a discussion for another day). I mean, jeez, doesn't the staff of The Village Voice read Brightest Day?

In any case, its a great catch. Thanks Frank!

Is a lame pun from people who know nada about the character. And it may be the one time I hope Aquaman DOESN'T get involved!

I'm sure there'll never be an Aquaman porn film (why spend the money on props and costumes when all you need is...the other stuff?).

That said, if they ever did do one, I'd feel it was my duty as Keeper of the Shrine to see it. But how the hell would I review it?

With lots of Aqua-related euphemisms, I suppose.

I've been avoiding even mentions of this as if reading about it would give me the plague.

A buddy I used to know had dependency issues, in that he'd stay with the wrong women for too long, and shack up with a new one within days of losing the first. Aquaman is kind of like that. It would be easier to figure out the brief periods when he was alone than to compile a cataloge of all the issues where he had female companionship. I'd guess one of the longest periods was when he was seperated from Mera in the early Detroit days, and he still had Vixen flirting with him. Plus, it was less than a year before he left the team to reunite with Mera (right there on the cover!) L.L. Cool A.

What's next? A Justice League orgy? Talk about a sausage fest!
