Krazy Little Comics: Jester's League of America

sg
This is the the cover to the Jester's League of America edition of Krazy Little Comics, an odd little series from the 1960s featuring superhero mini-comic parodies done by luminaries like Roy Thomas, Gil Kane, and, as you see here, Wally Wood!

I had only vaguely heard of these books (produced by Topps and distributed with bubble gum), and I had certainly never heard of a JLA-centric issue. Luckily, F.O.A.M.er Joe Mello (who seems to have a Uatu-like knowledge of what's on the internet any given moment) sent me a link to Wonderful Wonderblog, where its host, Erick Bognar, has been posting various complete issues of the series.

Erick generously sent me the scans of the entire Jester's League book, which features Aquaman clowning around with the rest of his ersatz-JLAers:

Seeing this makes me wish Mad had done a full-on Aquaman parody. That would've been something truly to behold.

Thanks to Joe and Erick, and Erick, welcome to F.O.A.M.!

I only recently foud out about these when I read one with Captain America and he wanted to join the Jester's League of AMerica. Funny stuff and glad you posted this for us to read. Wish I had known about these when I was a kid. I would have loved them.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for letting me join your little club. I can honestly say I'm proud to be a member of F.O.A.M.

And thanks Joe for passing my link on.
