Mera Blackest Night Figure Preview

sg
Several F.O.A.M.ers sent me this just-released pic of the new upcoming Mera figure from DC Direct, part of a Blackest Night wave.

I wish there had been a regular Mera figure before this, but the way her stock is climbing in the DCU I'm sure that's not too far away.

Its a little hard for me to take the figure "seriously", what with the Zombie Kitty (named Dex-Star) at her feet.

I thought the same thing, Rob! I wish there was a nice, beautiful, NORMAL figure of Mera.

But like you said, should be soon enough!

Seeing this in the light of day makes me think I *won't* buy it. I suppose I could couple it with Zombie Aquaman, though...

So close, DC Direct! And yet so far away!

I won't be buying this (kinda cool as it is) and I hope it doesn't end up a peg warmer. Looove to see us get a couple Mera action figures--one to fit in with my Alex Ross Justice-scale DC Direct Aquaman, and one for my DCUC Series 2 Aquaman.

Then once they do an Aqualad or two, I can call it a life!

I read somewhere that the 'zombie kitty' - Dex-Star - is crazy popular with Green Lantern fans at the moment. And, of course, so is Mera. Maybe when the 'Brightest Day' figures hit, they'll make a regular Mera figure-!?! (*Hopes, prays)

Yeah that cat is the red lantern corps' Ch'p equivalent, and kind of adorable. This figure could be in high demand after all. Better it sells the more likely regular Meras are in the future.

I haven'r read the whole Blackest Night crossover storylines, and am in debate as to whether or not to buy this one. On the one hand, it's the first Mera figure I can remember, but on the other, it's kinda goofy looking. I am still hoping for a "normal" Mera figure.

I happen to like it. And Dex-Star is a damn fine character. He is not a zombie and neither is Mera. They are Red Lanterns. There is a difference.

after seeing this figure, it makes me want to get the Black Lantern Aquaman and pair the two of them up. I think I would probably leave them both in their packaging, though, with the intention of having them signed by Geoff Johns someday. As for a regular Mera figure, you can bet that we will probably see that in a BRIGHTEST DAY line-up. Might not be in the first wave (which I suspect would be Aquaman, Deadman, Martian Manhunter, Captain Boomerang, Firestorm, and Max Lord), but she would be in there in the second wave.
