Aquaman/JLA Sketch Cards - 2009

sg
Another batch o' Aquaman-centric "sketch cards" sent to me by F.O.A.M. member Christopher Chance. Thanks again Chris!

Like the first bunch I posted back in December, these are all from the Justice League of America trading card set, which are (maybe) still on sale. (Between me and F.O.A.M.er George Rears, All Things Fun's stock of them got cleaned out)

There are some nice pieces here, I especially like the middle left and bottom right ones. Its interesting to see that some artists are still inspired by Aquaman's "hook for a hand" look, even though that's been gone a long time.

I think the randomly-inserted sketch card idea is a fun bonus to these trading card sets. Now that the JLA cards has pretty much come and gone, may I suggest a Brave and the Bold trading card set?

Hmm, the bottom right one likes a lot like a Mike Mignola drawing....I imagine a Mignola written and drawn Aquaman would be one heck of a read! These are cool Rob.

Cool stuff. I haven't seen any myself, but I like the different takes. The fourth one is sort Elseworlds-like.

I don't know, I guess I'm in the minority but I think these are pretty pedestrian works. I think the bottom left is by far the best of the bunch. To me these look like New Talent Showcase or something. bleh.

Were these given to you THE Christopher Chance? The Human Target? That is way cool! Welcome to Earth 1, Rob!
