Sunday night's episode of The Family Guy featured a spot-on parody of the classic Super Friends opening, with Chris in the role of Aquaman.
And when I say spot-on, I mean spot-on: they used the same voice over (except for one, tiny, purposely-discordant addition), and even replicated the scratchy look to the art used for the static action shots of Batman and Robin.
I don't have the video of just the sequence yet, but I'll do a separate post of it when it becomes available (which, thanks to the internet, ought to be about ten minutes from now). You can see the whole episode on Hulu here.
Thanks to F.O.A.M.ers Brian Heiler and Joe Mello for the tip!
Update: I found the opening on YouTube, from what looks like someone recording it right off the television:

I have both the Family Guy intro and the original Super Friends intro up and running...

I was surprised they kept it so "normal", except for the one joke. They obviously have some old Superfriends fans over there!
I don't suppose that when you post a link to the video could you include one that isn't on hulu, so's us outside the states can view it?
twould be much appreciated!
Wow! Although Family Guy has done plenty of Super Friends tributes/parodies in the past, this one takes the cake. Also my favorite SF opening, and the first one I really remember from childhood. Always loved the static Toth-drawn Batman and Robin sequence.
Chris
My office friends always give me such crap whenever Aquaman is parodied on Family Guy, but I always remind them: FG parodies EVERYTHING. So to be mentioned on that show is sort of an honor, in my opinion. :-) And now, obviously, there are plenty of Super Friends fans working on that show.
That was great - poor Meg. Super Friends only aired on TV3 here, which at the time was only in Auckland, so now thanks to DVD I've been able to catch up!
