Aquaman, Mera, and Namor - 2007

sg
This is a commission that Fred has up on his website, showing that its not just Sue Richards who feels a slight tug of her heartstrings when encountering Marvel's King of the Seas.

Hey, Namor, get your own girls!

Another great piece...although I don't know if I care for the way he draws Artie's "wave" of hair so much...

I went through all of my HEMBECK books last night trying to find the two original Aquaman pictures Fred did for me back around 1980 and I couldn't find them. Now I'm afraid I stuck them in some other book(s) and can't remember which ones!!
Both were body shots of The King; one was a sketch he did when I bought one of his books (The Hembeck Files, probably) and the other was in a letter he sent back to me after I wrote him begging for an Aqua-sketch.

(sigh)

Eventually I'll find them, but right now I'm kind of bummin' out.

Looking forward to the rest of the week, though.

This is one of the many Hembeck pieces in my possession. There are a few others up at his site - the Aquaman Family "Across the Page" is another as is the Detective / Daredevil "Switch-e-roo." Once I ever get around to updating my CAF gallery I'll shoot you a link.

Hembeck illos are like potato chips. You can't have just one!
