More Geoff Johns Quotage

I posted a quote from Geoff Johns about his affinity for Aquaman last Friday. Now he has another interview up at CBR, featuring this even more explicit(don't worry, its not NSFW!) quote regarding him and the Sea King:

"I would love to do Aquaman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, all those guys together. A real classic JLA lineup book would be sweet. I love Aquaman. I really, really love Aquaman. I’d love to work on Aquaman. I’ll just leave it at that."

Hmm...

And then we're left with this...

"Check back tomorrow for more from Johns on subjects ranging from bringing Action Comics and Superman more inline by the end of '08 to the two-years' worth of Iron Man stories he has plotted out should an opportunity ever present itself. All that and more Aquaman, too."

Again--hmm...

This would be the best thing that could happen to Aquaman. I had pretty much given up hope that he would be treated with any respect.
I love John's writing. If anyone can do Aquaman right it's him.

I met Johns at a signing in Muncie, Indiana about two years ago. This was right after Identity Crisis, and that JLA story that he was writing as an extention. I actually asked him, Why isn't Aquaman in the story?? and he said, "He wouldn't work in this story. But I would definitely use him in JLA if I was the JLA writer." So of course *I* said, So why aren't you???? And he laughed, saying something about JSA, The Flash, Marvel commitments, etc....But I still hold out hope. :-)

THIS ONE'S FOR YA:

So. If Warner won’t let DC Comics kill off Batman in “Final Crisis," who can DC get away with introducing to the Grim Reaper? I mean it has to be decent names, but it also has to be someone that a major franchise license isn’t totally resting on.

From Geoff Johns’ CBR interview: “There are still tons of characters to write. Aquaman is a big one. I have very specific ideas for him. Very specific."

From the letters page of this month's Johnny DC "Justice League Unlimited," in response to a young reader who doesn't like the changes made to Aquaman: "Fans of Aquaman's original look can look forward to a new comic book later in 2008."

May be the original look, but will it be the original character?

I only ask, because the two names marked for karking I’ve been given by a DC source are Martian Manhunter and Aquaman.

LOVE AQUAMAN!

God I would love to see more Aquaman this year written by Johns especially!

Yeah, no... Aquaman lives in his original incarnation by Geoff Johns. Will buy.

Meanwhile, J'Onn J'Onzz is clearly doomed, and until Dan DiDio is gone, I can't say I mind. Will buy it.

Man, I think Johns could seriously breathe some life back into the Aquaman character. I would LOVE to see him writing Aquaman
