Holiday Wrapping Paper - 1980s

sg
Have you finished wrapping your Christmas presents yet? Even if you have, don't you wish you had had this cool wrapping paper for some of them? I know I do!

Courtesy F.O.A.Mer Russell Burbage come some samples of way-cool Christmas wrapping featuring the stars of the DCU!

The art looks to be by Dick Giordano, featuring the Sea King of course(yay!), the usual suspects, as well as some unusual characters for a product like this, like the Legion of Super-Heroes and Plastic Man.

I wonder what Arthur got Diana?

I haven't finished wrapping, no. I've still got some nephews stuff to sort out,and of course the dogs gifts!

I do have this gift wrap due to Hawkman's inclusion.

Perhaps Ray is missing due to his Jewish background...

I was lucky enough to find a roll of the top wrapping paper at a way cool (now sadly defunct) toy store in Minneapolis. I bought it because of Arthur, of course. I use it very sparingly--it's lasted me 10 years so far!

Interesting, the background color on my roll is red...

Cute! Thanks, Russell & Rob.

(But boy - ya think DC could've actually had a decent Santa redrawn to fit the first piece, not just pasted in an ersatz Sundblom one?)

Merriest to all,

Actually I think Plastic Man is a perfect tie in for Christmas and it is nice to see, in a lighter moment, Batman singing carols with Superman and Robin.

It's no surprise Plas is on there, he had a TV series at the time. I love how DC crowbarred the Corgi Supermobile in there as well.

Wonderful stuff Rob!

There's a really fun Bronze-Age B & B Christmas story with Bats & Plas...

I love how on the top one, The Flash is flying a kite, Plastic Man has the Batmobile and Batplane, and Aquaman has a sailboat. And on the bottom one, it looks like Brainiac 5 and Supergirl are going to have a Merry Christmas. Awesome! Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Peaceful New Year!!!
