Pinback Button - 1970

sgThis fun little pinback was part of a lot of 'em I won on ebay; it was Aquaman along with four members of the BatFamily(Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Batgirl). I knew I was paying more than I normally would have just for the one, but I figured I could find someone who wanted the Batman ones.

And I was right--unbeknownst to me, F.O.A.M. member Chris Franklin was about to send me the four PSA Aquaman stickers he had, so when I found out that he wanted the buttons we worked out a trade. Easy!

They each measure about 2" in diameter and are in remarkably good, clean shape for being over thirty-five years old. They all use the classic DC stock art, except for the Batgirl one which looks like a panel grab(I wish I had a scan to go along with this. Chris?).

I"ll see if I can get the Batgirl button on a scanner, but just off the top of my head, the image looked to be by yesterday's Aqua-artist extroidinaire, Don Heck!!! He did the Batgirl backups in Detective and Batman Family quite often. The Joker, Penguin and Riddler buttons were by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson, who of course soloed on the famous "swimming U" Aquaman above!

Definitely a fantastic trade. One for the storybooks!

This is awesome, nothing like clean, crisp, vinatge style! Aquaman's pose was made for the button!
