This very beautiful rendering of Aquaman is by superb illustrator Duncan Fegredo. You can't tell from the scan, but the card is printed in reflective ink so all the colors are shiny, bright, and, well, unnecessary.About a decade ago, I worked at an art studio designing licensed products for clients like Marvel, MTV, and 20th Century-Fox, and that was the height of all the gimmicky crap like foil covers, holochrome inks, etc. Feh, I say--this piece is so nice it doesn't need all the extra bells and whistles.
This piece is also one of the rare times I've seen Aquaman drawn where he actually looks like he's floating in water.

I've got that card somewhere... shame the reflective surface blotted out the fishies. That was a nice series, actually....
