It always bugged me that Silver Age Aquaman was treated so..."alien". He grew up on land as a normal boy, right? Then why should he refer to his past experiences on "the surface world" this way?
Continuity, tight plots, and all around common sense were not the strong points of a zaney Bob Haney comic story, but that aside most of those issues were a ton of fun regardless of how downright silly some of the elements and characterizations were.
Chris. Yes, I meant Haney not Cardy. I think Haney did know better. I always liked his B&B Aquaman appearances. And hs wrote Aquaman as very comfortable in the surface world in his own comic as well, as I recall.

ReplyDeleteChris
Maybe this story was written by Bob Haney? Ha, some folks just didn't care.

ReplyDeleteThis was Steve Skeates, not Cardy.
ReplyDeleteAnd Skeates should know better!
ReplyDeleteOf course, Haney should have too...
